TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on Pau Gasol, the improving Raptors, Eric Gordon, Rajon Rondo, and tough times for the Bulls in Chicago. Kam Chancellor Jersey . 1. PAU GASOL (Lakers): There are rumours out of L.A. that the Lakers are open to moving the big man. He and Coach Mike DAntoni dont see eye to eye about his role and how he needs to be utilized in the offence. Hes a wonderfully talented player yet when I was in L.A. eight days ago for the Raptors game I was surprised to see how little explosion and pop he had in his game. He played with little passion/force and for a guy thats getting paid big money thats inexcusable. Yes, you dont like your role but dont pout about it. Play through adversity. 2. RAPTORS ARE BETTER: Watching Toronto the past two games vs. Philly and at Chicago, this is a better team. More traditional playing inside/out, much better ball distribution, role definition and balance in the offence. In addition, the second unit has a little more pop in it with Patterson, Vasquez and Salmons along with Tyler Hansbrough. It will be interesting to see with this development to see the approach of GM Masai Ujiri to the trade prospects as they pertain to Kyle Lowry and Im sure folks will be calling about Amir Johnson who has a very reasonable contract and produces consistently. Both guys would be valuable pieces for contending teams. Do you sell, hold or buy? Fascinating stuff. 3. ERIC GORDON (Pelicans): His team has had a nice season at 11-11 so far. More importantly, hes played in all 22 games. Hes had injury issues over the years and many questions about his durability and love for the sport as well. Hes been very effective at 16 ppg and shooting a reasonable 44 per cent field goal percentage and 39 per cent three-point percentage so far. Coach Monty Williams has done a nice job bringing this young team along and showing patience. Having Ryan Anderson back in the mix with his brilliant shooting and toughness helps. How they ride out the Anthony Davis injury will be huge yet the presence of Gordon consistently has been a pleasant compliment to this growing team. 4. RAJON RONDO (Celtics): Cleared for contact yet probably a few weeks to a month away from playing. Theyre in first place in the Atlantic Division. Im sure GM Danny Ainge is just thrilled with that. What do you do? Hell be a huge trade piece for them when hes ready to go or do you play him when hes ready? Hes a terrific competitor and player and instantly makes a team much better. The minute hes healthy and ready to go the offers for him will come pouring in and Im sure Ainge hears daily from fellow GMs kicking the tires about his availability. Keep an eye on this one. 5. NATE ROBINSON & MARCO BELINELLI (Nuggets, Spurs): Was in Chicago on Saturday for the Raptors game and I feel awful for Derrick Rose and the Bulls fans. The building was silent and dead - the fans are in mourning about the direction of their team. The more I watched their team I kept saying to myself that theyve got so little offensive creativity and explosiveness that theyre going to labour to score and win consistently. They miss Robinson and Belinelli big-time. Both can score and create their own shot and opportunities for others. With all due respect to DJ Augustin, its going to take him some time to get comfortable and to find his confidence. Not sure what the direction GM Gar Forman wants to take this thing yet but based upon what Ive seen of this unit of late theyre so offensively challenged they are in trouble. You can defend until youre blue in the face - you still gotta put the rock in the basket. Shows how fragile this business is. Two years ago they were the up and coming team in the East, and now theyre barely staying afloat. Bradley McDougald Jersey .com) - Houston Texans interim head coach Wade Phillips confirmed Monday that starting quarterback Case Keenum sustained a sprained right thumb during Sundays 25-3 loss in Indianapolis. Thomas Rawls Jersey . The mixed zone is not a place to make friends. . Then youve got to worry about the other up and coming teams in the two weaker divisions in the "Junior Circuit".RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks are continuing efforts to keep core players from reaching free agency, signing defensive end Cliff Avril to a four-year extension on Friday worth up to $28.5 million.Im happy to know that Ill be back in Seattle with such a great group of guys, Avril said. The talent on this team is amazing and Im glad to be a part of it.Avrils deal came a day after the Seahawks signed linebacker K.J. Wright to a four-year extension worth $27 million. Seattle made it a priority to keep the pair from becoming free agents after the season.Cliff has been instrumental in what weve been building on the defensive side of the ball and we are excited that hell be with us for another four years, Seattle general manager John Schneider said in a statement. He has been relentless in his approach to the game and his passion for winning is contagious.Avril is in his second year with Seattle after signing a two-year deal before the 2013 season. Avril has started all 14 games and has 4 1/2 sacks this season. He had eight sacks last year playing in more of a rotation on Seattles defensive line.Avril said he didnt want to be a free agent again and didnt enjoy the process two years ago that ultimately brought him to Seattle. Avril told his agent not to inform him of a deal until something was close and promising.Avril has already won more games with Seattle (23 regular season, 26 with playoffs) than he did in his five seasons in Detroit (22).I love what coach (Pete) Carroll is doing with the guys here, Avril said. I love the scheme. The guys that we have in the locker room make it so fun to play here. Just being in Seattle and the environment we have going, I just want to keep the party going. Mark Glowinski Jersey. While his sack numbers are down this season, Avrils success in pressuring the quarterback has increased. Hes already exceeded last years total in quarterback hits and combined with Michael Bennett to help the Seahawks pass rush improve throughout the season.Weve found the core guys that we really like and were trying to keep them here and keep them together, Carroll said. .We have a chance to be together for a long time and thats a big statement and a big commitment and were really happy to do that.Seattle had a season-high six sacks last week against San Francisco. The Seahawks have 16 sacks in the past four games. They had 13 sacks in their first 10 games. The Seahawks have now locked up several of their core players for the future. Strong safety Kam Chancellor was first before the start of the 2013 season. All-Pros Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, and wide receiver Doug Baldwin, were all extended following Seattles title last season. Bennett also chose to stay with Seattle, signing a three-year deal last off-season.Notes: Carroll said tackle Russell Okung (chest), centre Max Unger (ankle/knee) and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs (ankle) wont play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Okung is listed as out while Unger and Dobbs are doubtful on the injury report. . Tight end Tony Moeaki (shoulder) and receiver Chris Matthews (hamstring) are expected to be game-time decisions.___AP freelancer Curtis Crabtree contributed to this report.___Online:AP NFL website: and Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
